A Lanceman's SongBy Karen AldainFor Lanceman Liz White, Prince Bishop's Men She died in a mission against the conclave. They got two of the conclave's leaders on that mission. They'd accomplished the mission and were heading back, pursued by waves of werewolves. Dorn (who was Achillean at the time) was taken down, and Liz went to rescue him, but they were both killed. The rest of the people on the mission couldn't even rescue their bodies, Spirit/Gwion ensured that their patterns got to their ancestors. Liz went to Saint Cuthbert. A Lion who is true to you can easily be found. But let me sing of one to you Who many knew but so few knew All a Lion should be, she was strong, and brave and true. Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night the fires in the night Is it hard to be a lanceman, a tabard in the line? Are you lost behind your shield when the battle lines combine? White was a true Prince Bishops Man Weapons ever quick to hand Always ready to obey, no matter how hard the command. Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night the fires in the night I hope you died the way you wanted, werewolves at your feet You went and stopped the Conclave, but the victory wasn't cheap. When Dorn fell you ran to defend The body of your fallen friend A soldier through and through, and so you met a soldier's end. Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night the fires in the night But did they really know you, did they know your name was Liz? Did they know that someone loved you, and that you will be missed? Did they see your eyes were brown You laughed and teased when others frowned Do they even notice now that you are not around? Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night the fires in the night So when we stand as Lions, let us think of Lanceman White Like her, we will stand proud and we will die to do what's right She was everything we hope to be And left a lion's legacy Of pride and inspiration when we fight for victory Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night Oh roar, boys, roar, so that the ancestors will hear Drink to those that went before us Raise your glasses, share a beer Roar, boys, roar. Roar for Lanceman White Roar so she will hear you Round the fires in the night the fires in the night |
